NORWALK - Community leaders in Norwalk are coming together to promote awareness of the city's summer meals program for students.

Program organizers say any resident under 18 can get a free lunch daily at one of five meal-sites across Norwalk.

Organizers say most families don't realize their children qualify for this opportunity.

To get the word out, they are canvassing the community and distributing fliers door-to-door.

They say you can also get information through text messages.

Program organizers say the meal sites will also offer recreational activities for children and teens including games, arts and crafts, book giveaways and gardening activities during lunchtime.
