NORWALK - A Norwalk man recently started a program to help people in need of a kidney transplant find a donor.

Ned Brooks formed Donor to Donor.  It's an organization that pairs those in need of a kidney with a person who previously donated one.

That donor becomes the patient's advocate in the search for an organ from a living donor.

Donor to Donor had its first successful pairing this summer.

A Norwalk father of three received a live-saving kidney transplant from a Trumbull woman.

The two met for the first time after the operation was a success.

Brooks started the organization after he donated his kidney to a stranger and says he learned just how many people are waiting for a kidney and never get one.
