NORWALK - A Norwalk minister accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old family member in New York appeared in a Connecticut court Monday and was charged with third degree assault.

The judge also issued an order of protection against Reverend Phillip Joubert.

The alleged female victim lives on Lexington Street, the same street where Joubert's New Light Missionary Baptist Church is located. Joubert also faces sexual assault charges in New York.

Joubert's lawyer says his client will plead not guilty when he next goes before a judge on Jan. 13.
