Norwalk mom accused of beating 5-month-old girl

NORWALK - A 22-year-old Norwalk mother is accused of brutally beating her 5-month-old baby.

Police say Jamie Lane brought her daughter to Norwalk Hospital where doctors discovered multiple skull fractures, a broken leg, and bruises throughout her body. Lane claimed the injuries were caused by an accident, but police decided to investigate further.

Yesterday, Lane was arrested at her home on charges of assault in the first degree and risk of injury to a minor.

Lane?s daughter will be placed in protective custody with family or in a foster home until permanent arrangements are made.
