NORWALK - Plans to build an Islamic Center and mosque in Norwalk have been put on hold.

The Al Madany Islamic Center had applied for a permit to build the 2,700-square foot building on Fillow Street.

Town officials say the group has withdrawn its application for the time being so that changes may be made to the proposal.

A public meeting scheduled tomorrow to answer questions about the plans has been canceled.
