NORWALK - A Norwalk neighborhood came together today to demand action and to hold city officials accountable for years of flooding.

The Wolfpit Community on Saddle Road told stories of raw sewage backing up into their yards and homes, which they feel is an unfair and unsafe situation.

One resident told News 12 Connecticut that the problem is so bad, he has to use a power washer to clean raw sewage off his house and yard every time there's a downpour.

Residents say the drainage system needs to be fixed, but they don't know exactly what is causing the floods.

Councilman Nick Kydes says he is demanding action from the Department of Public Works, and has vowed to help the residents rise up against the rising water.

The City Council will take up the issue this Wednesday at City Hall at 8 p.m. There will also be a follow-up meeting on Oct. 2.
