Norwalk PD: Kid faked abduction story

NORWALK - Norwalk police say a report by an 11-year-old boy that a man tried to lure him into his van Wednesday was false.

Police say the story had some inconsistencies and when pressed, the child admitted he had made it up.

Police also say two other recent suspicious incidents turned out to be simple misunderstandings.

According to police, a child who reported being approached by a man handing out flyers advertising sneaker recycling turned out to be a legitimate business.

Officials also say an incident where a young man tried to touch a girl at a McDonald?s involved a 15-year-old boy with autism who meant her no harm.
