Norwalk police boosting patrols near 2 schools

NORWALK - The number of patrols near two Norwalk schools have been stepped up following a shooting last month. Officials say the shots were fired in the air just blocks from Columbus Magnet School and Side-by-Side Community School while students were on recess.

Although no one was hurt, Norwalk police feel that their increase in patrols has deterred violence. Police say that they will speak to anyone they feel should not be in the area in order to make sure they?re not loitering.

The additional patrols will continue through the end of the school year.
