NORWALK - Nurses and other Red Cross workers picketed today because of a contract dispute they say would cut benefits.

Rallies were held outside the Red Cross on Westport Avenue in Norwalk and at the headquarters in Farmington.

Workers say they want a better contract that includes benefits and cleaner conditions for their blood supplies.

A Red Cross spokesperson says financial troubles forced the organization to seek concessions.

Blood drives will resume tomorrow.
