Norwalk residents demand more education funding

HARTFORD - A group of Norwalk residents was in Hartford today to demand more education funding.

They say Norwalk gets significantly less money per student than similar cities because the formula takes property values into account and does not just look at demographics.

State Rep. Gail Lavielle represents part of Norwalk and is on the education committee.

She says she will introduce an amendment to change the formula and give Norwalk a more equitable share when the committee debates the governor's education bill. For extended footage of the Norwalk education rally, click on iO Extra on Channel 612.
