STAMFORD - A Norwalk woman charged with killing her husband was cleared Monday of murder but found guilty of manslaughter in Stamford Superior Court.

Prosecutors accused 60-year-old Mary Ann Langley of pouring gasoline on her husband, James Langley, and setting him on fire while he slept in their Norwalk home in December 2006.

James Langley suffered second- and third-degree burns on 35 percent of his body and died 12 days after the attack.

?I was kind of hoping for a murder verdict, but I was satisfied with the way they handled it,? says James Langley?s sister, Yvonne Langley-Gay. ?I think she now realizes what she's done and done to our family.?

Mary Ann Langley could get up to 20 years in prison. Her lawyer says that because of her age, a maximum sentence would essentially be a life sentence.
