SOUTHPORT - The National Transportation Safety Board released a list of safety recommendations Tuesday for Metro-North following a deadly derailment in the Bronx in December.

The NTSB recommendations include recorders on trains and speed-limit signs at all locations where a permanent speed restriction is in place.

The Connecticut Citizens Transportation Lobby held a meeting Tuesday night in Southport where Metro-North commuters got a chance to voice their concerns to transportation officials.

Organizers and train riders discussed Metro-North issues, including train delays, overcrowding and the December crash.

During the meeting, Metro-North officials said they are not happy with the performance that they deliver, but assured commuters they are committed to turning it around.
