STAMFORD - President Barack Obama traveled to southwestern Connecticut tonight to attend two fundraisers.

Obama spoke at an event at the Stamford Marriott Hotel to help U.S. Senate candidate Richard Blumenthal raise money.

Addressing a crowd of about 500 people, Obama said that electing Blumenthal was "a no-brainer."

The president's address at Stamford was followed by a $1,000-a-plate dinner to benefit Blumenthal.

Obama then headed to Greenwich for an event at a private home to benefit the Democratic National Committee that's said to cost $30,000 a seat.
