BRIDGEPORT - President Barack Obama visited Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard Saturday to rally Connecticut Democrats and to encourage citizens to hit the polls for Tuesday's midterm elections.

Obama also endorsed Congressman Jim Himes at the event, which was part of his Move America Forward campaign.

The president spoke for about half an hour before a crowd of nearly 9,000 people, asking Democrats to bring 2008 levels of energy and enthusiasm to the polls this year.

"If everybody who showed up in 2008 shows up in 2010, we will win this election," Obama said.

Former President Bill Clinton plans to campaign with Himes in Norwalk on Sunday.
