State police have identified the trooper and suspect involved in a fatal shooting at a gas station in Milford. They say the trooper, James Scott,

MILFORD - State police have identified the trooper and suspect involved in a fatal shooting at a gas station in Milford.

They say the trooper, James Scott, is a 15-year veteran.

Police say he shot and killed Matthew Lofaro, 28, of Milford, at the Patriot Fuels station on the Boston Post Road.

Police say Scott walked in on Lofaro robbing the gas station clerk early Wednesday morning.

Lofaro died at the scene.
