WESTPORT - Health officials say a Westport plastic surgeon has been suspended and he and his staff can't perform surgeries through the end of July.

The state Department of Health says the Center for Ambulatory Surgery on Imperial Avenue may pose a health risk.

Officials say the center's license was suspended in 2011 when the state claimed it was using outdated medication and rusty equipment.

They say the center's owner, Dr. Joel Singer, has faced multiple violations since 1999.
