HARTFORD - Utilities said Friday that they were prepared to deal with outages, and about 10 percent of customers were expected to lose power due to the storm.

Officials from Connecticut Light & Power say they are bringing in extra crews and will have them ready to go.

Both CL&P and United Illuminating are telling customers to be prepared if they lose power. People should have a kit with flashlights, first aid items, a battery-operated radio, non-perishable foods, bottled water and pet supplies.
