NORWALK - Several elected Connecticut officials rode the Danbury Metro-North rail line Thursday to assure residents they're working to improve service.

Rep. Jim Himes says he and other elected officials received $30 million from the federal government to upgrade the Danbury line's antiquated manual signal system, which is expected to make travel more efficient.

Hines says he'd like the improvements to be completed by December of next year.
