BRIDGEPORT - Officials are investigating the cause of an early morning fire in Bridgeport.

Firefighters say a mattress went up in flames inside a home on Maplewood Avenue around 6:00 a.m.

Officials say one person was trapped in the back of the building, but firefighters were able to rescue the victim unharmed. They say no one else was injured during the blaze.
