MILFORD - The strange tale of the mountain lion that came to Milford has gotten a bit stranger, as investigators release more details on where they believe the cat came from.

Last week, state officials reported the big cat came from South Dakota. Now, they say they believe it traveled through Canada to reach Connecticut.

According to the New Haven Register, investigators believe the mountain lion traveled nearly 1,500 miles in 18 months.

The cat was killed by a car in Milford last month. Genetic testing shows it was the same animal that had been spotted several times in the area previously.
