BRIDGEPORT - A 650-pound Bridgeport man is getting help from a nutritionist to lose weight.

News 12 Connecticut first reported that Orlando Casanova was fighting with the city because he was unable to access public transportation.

Nutritionist Francine Blinten saw the report and is now trying to help Casanova lead a healthier life.

Casanova says he is obese not from overeating, but from a medical condition and the medication he takes to treat it.

A spokesman for Greater Bridgeport Transit says the agency is still trying to come up with a way for Casanova to take public transportation. If it can't come up with a plan, it will buy a new handicapped van that can carry somebody his size.
