NORWALK - Students at Ponus Ridge Middle School in Norwalk received an unexpected half day Wednesday due to a power outage.

A fallen tree knocked out wires near the school causing the outage. Students were released at 11 a.m.

The students also missed classes last week, as all Norwalk schools were closed due to lingering storm-related power issues.

Connecticut Light and Power says power has been restored.
