The Action for Bridgeport Community Development has been shut down by the Bridgeport Health Department after complaints were made over construction.

About 300 kids are without a day care and about 150 people are no unemployed after the Friday shutdown. The letter notifying staff members of the shut down was sent Thursday. It cites noxious odors as a cause for concern.

Parents are angry over the sudden shutdown and being forced to have to find another daycare quickly. Officials say they are aware of the repercussions for families and staff.

The landlord says he is optimistic that construction will be completed by Friday.
