NEW HAVEN - A Bridgeport couple says their 1-year-old daughter could be paralyzed on her left side after her babysitter allegedly beat her last week.

Darin May and Lillie Carlton say the babysitter was watching a TV show when their daughter, Alisha, started crying. May claims the sitter, 24-year-old Keamira Fatal, slammed Alisha's head against the hardwood floor until she stopped crying and left her unattended while the TV show finished.

Fatal eventually called 911 and when police responded, they arrested her. Emergency responders transported Alisha to New Haven Hospital.

Fatal is due in court Tuesday.
