WESTPORT - Metro-North train service is back on schedule Thursday night after earlier delays from weather problems that left one train stuck.

Passengers had to be rescued Wednesday night after being stranded for more than two hours on a Metro-North train in Westport.

Metro-North says the train brought down some overhead lines around 9 p.m. between the East Norwalk and Greens Farms stations.

They say a rescue train was sent, but signal problems kept it from getting to the scene.

Officials say the problem was fixed around 11 p.m. and another train picked up the 200 people on board.

One commuter News 12 spoke with says it was cold on the train causing people around him to panic.
