NEW CANAAN - Singer-songwriters Paul Simon and Edie Brickell faced a judge today after police say the couple got into an argument that turned physical at their New Canaan home.

A judge charged Simon and Brickell with one count of disorderly conduct. The couple's attorney says they got into a minor dispute at their home on Saturday and they ended up pushing each other, but nobody was seriously hurt.

Their attorney says their teenage children were home at the time, along with Brickell's mother, who called police.

After the hearing, Simon told reporters they're fine together and Brickell said she doesn't feel threatened by him. Both are due back in court on May 16.
