BRIDGEPORT - Bridgeport police say a man is clinging to life after being hit by a car as he walked across the street last night.
Witnesses say that 51-year-old Thomas Jacob was struck at the intersection of State Street and Park Avenue at around 9 p.m. Monday.
Police say the driver of the vehicle stopped immediately and stayed at the scene.
Jacob was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
No charges were filed against the driver. Police say an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
