STRATFORD - Police have arrested a suspect in the armed robbery of the Checker’s Food Store on Barnum Avenue in Stratford.
Keomany Phetsarath, 25, of Bridgeport showed little emotion as he went before a judge. Police tell News 12 that Phetsarath is charged with first-degree conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and that the judge raised his bond from $50,000 to $100,000.
Phetsarath allegedly entered the store at around 10 p.m. last night with two accomplices, at least one of whom is said to have been armed with a handgun. The group is accused of taking $700 from the store. Phetsarath allegedly drove the getaway car.

Court papers say police found a pair of white gloves in the car Phetsarath was driving. Authorities say that it’s too early to be certain, but that the robbery may have ties to the recent “White Glove Bandit” case in Bridgeport.
