BRIDGEPORT - Police say 13 people were injured in a shooting at a house party in Bridgeport Sunday morning.

They say at least two people fired shots through hedges into the backyard of a home at 19 Plymouth St. around 1:30 a.m.

Police say one woman was shot in the face and critically injured. She was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital and is said to be doing well.

A man was also shot in the face, although his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police also say the other 11 people hurt all suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police Chief AJ Perez says due to the angle of the gunmen's perch, most of the victims were struck in the legs.

Investigators say while it's not clear what the motive was, they believe there was a very specific reason the gunmen took aim from behind the bushes.

News 12 is told the DEA, the FBI and the Justice Department are going to be brought in to investigate the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bridgeport Police Department.
