BRIDGEPORT - Police are searching for clues after a shooting earlier this afternoon that left one man dead and three others hurt in Bridgeport.

Police have identified the man who died as 26-year-old Christopher Pettway, of Bridgeport. They say the other victims' ages range from late teens to early 20s.

Police say the shooting happened near the intersection of Reservoir and Trumbull avenues at around 2:30 p.m. near the Trumbull Gardens apartment complex. They aren't releasing many details from their investigation, but witnesses say they heard gunshots and ran inside their houses. Other witnesses say they saw two people flee from the scene after the shooting.

All four of the victims were shot outside, and a witness says children were in the area when the shooting happened.
