GREENWICH - Greenwich police say five people are safe on dry land this morning after officers rescued them from a fast-sinking boat.

They say the boat was right off the coast near Rye Playland last night when it began taking on water.

Police say the passengers radioed for help and were rescued only minutes before the boat sank.     

They say luckily, no one was hurt.
