STAMFORD - Stamford police say they're investigating an accident that sent a 68-year-old man to the hospital with head trauma and other injuries.

The accident happened yesterday morning on Hamilton Avenue near Culloden Road in the Glenbrook section of the city.

Police say the man was not in the crosswalk when he stepped out from between two cars that were stopped at a red light.

They say the victim is very well known in the area.

Police say the driver was not charged and is cooperating with the investigation.
