FAIRFIELD - Police say three people were arrested and another is at large following a chase involving a stolen car Thursday morning.
The ordeal began on Woodside Avenue in Westport. Police say an officer was patrolling the neighborhood when he spotted a black BMW that was stolen the night before. The officer tried to stop it, but it sped off.
Another officer spotted the same vehicle a short time later on Post Road West, and the car once again fled.
Police were eventually able to arrest three passengers in the vehicle after it crashed into a utility pole in Fairfield. They are facing larceny and other charges. One suspect is a juvenile whose name was not released. Another suspect, 19-year-old Denise Marquez of Bridgeport, was arraigned Thursday in Norwalk.
The third suspect, 18-year-old Tyler Carey of East Haven, is facing an additional charge of criminal impersonation after police say he misled them about his identity. He will be arraigned Friday in Norwalk.
Police are still searching for the driver of the stolen vehicle. Anyone with information on the case is urged to contact police.
