Police arrest man who allegedly had 63 pounds of pot in car

NORWALK - Norwalk police say they have arrested a man for smuggling $500,000 worth of marijuana across the country in his car.

Officers say 43-year-old John Herman was pulled over Friday because he was talking on his cell phone while driving. They say Herman had driven the 63 pounds of marijuana from California before he was arrested.

Authorities say the arrest is important because it will upset the bigger picture of supply and demand in the area.

Herman is free on $250,000 bond and is expected to go before a judge next month.
