NORWALK - Norwalk police say the father who secretly recorded his children being assaulted by their mother did the right thing.

Police say Lisa Livia, 40, was charged Wednesday and is prohibited from having contact with the children, who are between the ages of 3 and 13.

Police say the attacks happened in the father's home on Huckleberry Drive.

Livia's attorney says her client has been diagnosed with depression.

Police say the father installed cameras in the house and then caught the mother physically and verbally abusing her kids.

Livia is expected to face a judge next month.
