BRIDGEPORT - Police are on the hunt for a driver who fled the scene after crashing a stolen car into a home in Bridgeport this morning.

Investigators say the crash occurred at around 6:15 a.m. Police say the car sped through a fence and across a lawn before it smacked into a vacant house. The car then burst into flames while the driver apparently took off.

Bridgeport fire officials say they were able to get to the scene quickly and knock out the flames before they engulfed the abandoned home.

By late Sunday morning, the car had been removed from the scene, but skidmarks were still visible on the home's snowy lawn.

Anyone with information is urged to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5100.
