Police: Drunken boater arrested after backing over swimmer

Westport police say a drunken boater has been arrested after backing over a swimmer near Compo Beach. Authorities say 21-year-old Cyrus Fardoust has been charged

WESTPORT - Westport police say a drunken boater has been arrested after backing over a swimmer near Compo Beach. Authorities say 21-year-old Cyrus Fardoust has been charged with reckless operation of a vessel while under the influence. According to police, the propeller from Fardoust's boat seriously injured the swimmer's legs. The victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital and has since been released. Fardoust has been freed on $10,000 bond.
