Police find driver who fled after crash on Hoyt Street in Darien

Darien police say they have found the driver who smashed into a pole this morning and left the scene before police arrived.

DARIEN - Darien police say they have found the driver who smashed into a pole this morning and left the scene before police arrived.

Officials say the crash happened on Hoyt Street after 1 a.m. Electricity in the neighborhood was shut off while emergency crews cleared the crash scene.

Police used a K-9 team and a cylinder investigation to track down the driver of the vehicle.

The driver’s identity has not been released, and police have not said if the person is facing any charges.
