Police hunt for Wilton bank robber

WILTON - Police are searching Friday for the person who robbed a bank on Route 7 in Wilton.

Police say the daring robber held up the Patriot National Bank Thursday just after 5 p.m. They say it is the second time the branch has been targeted. The K-9 unit was brought in to search for the suspect but police say the thief was long gone.

Witnesses say the scene was almost identical to a robbery that happened two years ago. That's when two masked men stormed the bank, wielding guns and making off with more than $30,000.
