Police have released the identity of the man killed in a van fire along the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield.The body has been identified as Omar

FAIRFIELD - Police have released the identity of the man killed in a van fire along the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield.

The body has been identified as Omar Valencia, 50, of Bridgeport.

Firefighters discovered the body as they put out a brush fire in the woods near the burning van between exits 44 and 46 Wednesday night.

Police are hoping the medical examiner will determine the cause of death today.
