STAMFORD - A standoff with Stamford police has ended with a man in custody.

The standoff occurred at 41 Stillwater Ave., just before children made their way home from school.

Police say they got a call about a man with a gun outside of a local restaurant. Officers spotted the suspect, 50-year-old Victor Bestor, but he took off running before they could catch him. He eventually ran into his own home.

Police say no shots were fired, and no one was hurt.
