NORWALK - Police are investigating after a car collided with a Metro-North train this evening in Norwalk.

Investigators say that the driver was on Perry Avenue when he tried to stop at a rail road crossing, but hit ice and slid into the moving train on the Metro-North's Danbury line.

The driver suffered minor injures, including cuts on his face, but is expected to be OK. None of the passengers aboard the train suffered any injuries.

The driver said that while his car is destroyed, he's lucky to be alive.
