TRUMBULL - Police say a homeowner and housekeeper were beaten and robbed at gunpoint by two men in Trumbull earlier today.
Officers were called to 11 Barnswallow Road around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. They say 79-year-old Aurelio Carmolingo was on his way back from a card game in Bridgeport when a pair of masked gunmen followed him into his garage.
"I couldn't do anything to get out," he said. "They tied me up."
Authorities said the men bound and gagged Carmolingo and his housekeeper with tape, then stole nearly $700 and several sentimental pieces.
Investigators said the intruders also stole Carmolingo's 2007 black Nissan Maxima, which police found abandoned in Bridgeport earlier this afternoon.
