Police: Man charged for producing gun during road rage incident

WESTPORT - UPDATE: The charges against Blum were dismissed on Dec. 23, 2013.

ORIGINAL STORY: Police say a Trumbull man has been charged for brandishing a handgun during a road rage incident in Westport today.

Officials say 43-year-old Andrew Blum first passed a car in a no-passing zone. When both cars came to a stop sign at Wilton Road and Kings Highway North, the other driver began shouting at Blum.

Blum then pulled out a handgun during the confrontation, according to investigators.

Authorities say both drivers acted irresponsibly and that Blum does have a permit to carry the weapon.
