Officials say that a passerby called 911 early this morning after driving past the corner of West Main Street and Greenwich Avenue and hearing the brawl.

Police say they believe three men beat up the victim, who ended up in the river with a bruise on the back of his head. The victim says he was drunk and does not remember what happened.

Police say that the suspects took off in a small, red car heading north on Mill River Street. Anyone with information is urged to call Stamford police.
