WESTPORT - A man robbed a bank Thursday morning in downtown Westport.

The suspect walked into the Chase Bank branch on Main Street and demanded money, according to authorities.

Police say the suspect passed a note indicating he had a weapon but they are not sure if he actually had one. They say no one was hurt.

Investigators are not sure how much money was taken and say the suspect fled on foot south on Main Street.

Police believe the suspect acted alone, and they say this was a bold act.

Police have provided two pictures of the suspect in which he is wearing a hat, sunglasses and appears to be carrying a backpack. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact the police.
