FAIRFIELD - Police are trying to track down the man who walked into a Fairfield pharmacy and threatened an employee before making off with prescription drugs and cash.
It happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday at the CVS on Black Rock Turnpike. Police say the suspect told an employee that he had an accomplice with him in the store who was armed with a gun.
The suspect left with eight bottles of prescription drugs, including OxyContin. He drove off in a car that was parked behind the store.
It is unclear if the suspect was actually working with an armed accomplice.
Workers at the store say they didn't see him.
Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic man who stands at about 5 foot 3 inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans and a camouflage hat.
Shoppers at the store were surprised to hear about the robbery.
