Fairfield police confirm a man was struck and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon.

FAIRFIELD - Fairfield police confirm a man was struck and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say it happened near the Fairfield Metro Station just before 4 p.m.

Police say the victim laid down on the tracks as the train approached.

The victim has not yet been identified.
