Police: Man walks into library in just panties

MILFORD - A New Haven man is facing charges after Milford police say he walked into the public library wearing only a T-shirt, women's underwear and work boots Wednesday.

The man, according to authorities, is a registered sex offender. Richard Wedmore is charged with public indecency, risk of injury and breach of peace. Library employees say there were children nearby when Wedmore came in, but he didn?t talk to any of them. He was removed quickly, police say.

Bond was set at $40,000. Prosecutors say Wedmore has a long arrest record and is on probation. He has been instructed not to go near the library while the case is pending.
