Police: Mariano Corrente from Stamford faces heroin charges

Stamford police say a man is facing charges after authorities allegedly caught him stashing a large amount of heroin.

Officers stopped 40-year-old Mariano Corrente after they saw him running from his own car near the corner of Glenbrook Road and East Main Street.

STAMFORD - Stamford police say a man is facing charges after authorities allegedly caught him stashing a large amount of heroin.

Officers stopped 40-year-old Mariano Corrente after they saw him running from his own car near the corner of Glenbrook Road and East Main Street Friday afternoon.

Investigators say when officers stopped him, he had 204 bags of heroin, several Xanax pills and more than $2,000 in cash on him.
